Building our Faith through Scripture
Dwelling in God’s Word lays a cornerstone for our faith. In reflecting on scripture, we find many areas in our life which we need to keep, start, and stop doing, and then understand how to deliver on these actions.
Scripture shows us how to persistently nurture our relationship with God. We need to keep the light of God shining through so others may see.
That same light also has a way to expose our own inadequacies. We need to start doing something about our failings. We need to take intentional steps to right ourselves in God’s love.
And then there are areas in our lives which block God’s light and we must learn to stop doing these things. Studying the Bible shows us how our pride, our doubts, and our distractions can trip us up.
The challenge is delivering on our commitment to Christ. We can write down all the ways we will keep, start, and stop areas in our faith, but until we take action, our intentions remain dormant. We must work out our faith through scripture—steadfastly keeping, courageously starting, and resolutely stopping—as we journey toward Christlikeness.
